March 12, 2007 |
"The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) Norrbotten region announces annually the Leader of the Year award to the person who demonstrated exemplary leadership ability in the business sector in the Norrbotten region.
The readers of the regional newspaper, Kuriren, submit the candidates and 50 strong candidates are selected from all over the region.
The team of judges are composed of Viktoria Viktoria Mettävainio, Sture Lundgren, Birgit Kostenius, Pether Nordblad, Monica Wikström Johansson and Sture Bergman. The judges did an extensive research of each of the candidates before finally announcing this year’s winner as Maud Spencer, Managing Director of Svalson AB in Öjebyn. Our big congratulations to Maud!
Exemplary leadership - The building and construction industry is a male-dominated world. Maud crossed this boundary by leading the company to further expansion to different markets outside Sweden. Svalson products can now be found not only in Europe but also as far as Japan and Australia.
- Her organizational skills, enthusiasm and positive personality resulted in a stronger product development and exciting new products. Under her leadership, the company is experiencing a record high turnover in its 25 years history.
Those were the words from Kuriren’s editor Sture Bergman handed over the trophy and certificate to the still surprised but very happy Maud Spencer. Under your leadership, your company has experienced the best turnover in the company’s 25 years of history." (Näringsliv Norrbotten, March 6, 2007)

| Njord Thermo: sliding window with thermally insulated profiles |
March 20, 2006 |
The popular Njord series of sliding windows is extended with thermally insulated profiles capable of supporting up to 26 mm insulating glass. The new profiles, named Njord Thermo, gives a very flexible system that allows profile dimensions to be adjusted to meet both technical requirements as well as customer preferences.
Not only can the new profile system be manufactured with several sliding sections, it is also possible to manufacture Njord Thermo so that the top section (or sections) is opened downwards instead of upwards, which typically is the norm on conventional sliding windows.
The target group is all types of outdoor installations where a high level of indoor comfort is desired. Given the high flexibility of the profiles, Njord Thermo is suitable for installations ranging from small sliding windows to very large sliding windows with widths of several meters – and this without the need to compromise neither function nor appearance.
